Building a New vDAS Portfolio

To build a new vDAS portfolio:

  1. Click

  2. from the Portfolio List view (screenshot) to open the portfolio wizard. Or click File from the Main Menu Bar and select New Portfolio (screenshot).
  3. Click the vDAS button (screenshot).
  4. Create New Portfolio Wizard page: Outlines the steps involved in building a vDAS portfolio. Click the Next button to get started (screenshot).
  5. Name Your Portfolio page: Enter a Name and then click the Next button (screenshot).
  6. Inception Date page: Enter an Inception Date and then click the Next button (screenshot).
  7. Starting Equity page: Enter a Starting Equity amount and then click the Next button (screenshot).
  8. Average Transaction Fee page: Enter a Transaction Fee amount (leave at 0 if not applicable) and then click the Next button (screenshot).
  9. Management Fees/Billing Cycle page: Enter an annual Management Fee percent (leave at 0 if not applicable) and select a Billing Cycle frequency from the drop-down list, then click the Next button (screenshot).
  10. Add Asset Categories to Your Portfolio page: Enter an Asset Category Name and Asset Category Description, click the Add Asset Category button, and then click the Next button (screenshot).

To remove a previously added asset category, select it from the Asset Categories table, click

and then click the Yes button to confirm removal (screenshot).

  1. Portfolio Symbols page: Add Symbols and Symbol Manual Controls, then click the Next button (screenshot).

  3. Enter ticker symbols into the Symbol Entry box separated by spaces or commas — not a combination of BOTH (screenshot). Or copy/paste ticker symbols from a spreadsheet (screenshot).
  4. Select a VPM Trade System from the drop-down list (screenshot).
  5. Click the Add Symbols button (screenshot).
  1. Symbols found in the database will appear in the Current Portfolio Symbols table. Symbols not found in the database will remain in the Symbol Entry box (screenshot).

  3. Click a symbol from the Current Portfolio Symbols table to select it (screenshot).
  4. Set Asset CategoryMin %, and Max % values for the initial manual control from the Symbol Manual Controls table (screenshot).
  5. Steps 3–5 only applicable when adding an additional symbol manual control

  1. After a manual control has been added the Asset CategoryMin %, and Max % values must be edited inline from the Symbol Manual Control table.

  3. Click the symbol with the manual control to be removed from the Current Portfolio Symbols table to select it (screenshot).

  2. Locate and select the stop/starts CSV file to be imported (screenshot).
  3. Click the Open button (screenshot).
  1. For a stop/starts CSV file to be imported successfully it must exactly match with the securities and trading system/model contained in the portfolio at the time of import.

  2. Select a save location and name the stop/starts CSV file by either keeping the default name or entering a new name (screenshot).
  3. Click the Save button (screenshot).
  4. Min Cash Reserves page: Add minimum cash reserves to the portfolio (defaults to 2% if none added) and then click the Next button (screenshot).

  6. Enter a Min Reserve % value (screenshot).
  7. Enter an Effective Date (screenshot).
  8. Click the Add Cash Reserve button (screenshot).
  9. Removing a Cash Reserve
  10. Click the cash reserve to be removed from the Cash Reserve Effective Dates table to select it (screenshot).

  2. Click the Yes button to confirm removal (screenshot).
  3. Level Verification page: Verify no Min Total or Max Total exceeds 100% and then click the Next button (screenshot).

If a total exceeds 100% (designated in red), click the Back button to return to the Portfolio Symbols Page and adjust manual control min/max values as necessary (screenshot).

  4. Click the Add Rebalance Date button (screenshot).

  6. Click the manual rebalance to be removed from the Rebalnce Dates table to select it (screenshot).
